So… What is HYGGE?

(pronounced: hyoo-guh)

A simple definition of HYGGE would be:

‘an atmosphere of warmth, comfort, and well being’

You may wonder how, then, does my shop embody HYGGE?

HYGGE is a concept, therefore making it a bit tricky to nail down a concrete definition that is easy for everyone to visualize and understand. Fortunately, there are many other definitions of HYGGE that can help us better understand just what the word really means. We can also think of HYGGE as:

~ a cozy quality that makes a person feel content and comfortable

~ a calm comfortable time with the people you love

~ a feeling of belonging to the moment and each other ~ a calm comfortable time with the people you love

~ enjoying life’s simple pleasures

~ celebrating the every day

We can achieve this by doing things like:

~ embracing nature

~ finding beauty in the mundane

~ living slowly, intentionally

~ being together with the ones you love most

~ noticing and celebrating life’s perfect imperfections

So What Does that Look Like Here?
